It is unclear exactly what has leaked out, but according to the rescue service, it concerns "some form of petroleum product".
We do not know where it comes from, but are on site and working, and have laid out booms to catch this leak, said Jonas Penton, alarm and control operator at the rescue service.
It is also unclear how large the spill was and where it came from, but a maintenance technician at the municipal company Nodra told Norrköpings Tidningar:
I believe it is an old spill from upstream somewhere. It is not an ongoing leak.
By lunchtime on Sunday, the rescue service had a suction truck on site to suck up the oil. Shortly after 1:30 pm, they announced that the operation was complete and that the matter had been handed over to the municipality.
