Oil spill alarm in Lysekil marina

"A major oil spill has been discovered in a marina north of central Lysekil. We have drained the marina itself, but do not know where the oil is coming from," says Mathias Jonasson, the duty officer at the Fyrbodal rescue service.

The spill occurred in Valboviken, which Bohusläningen first reported.

Both the Swedish Maritime Rescue Service and the Coast Guard are assisting in efforts to limit the spill and find its source.

"We have blocked the harbor with booms, so we'll see how we do. Right now it's very foggy," says Mathias Jonasson.
