Oil prices edge higher after weekend attacks in the Strait of Hormuz

Oil prices start the week with cautious increases.

Despite a weekend of new attacks between Iran and the United States - including targeting ships in the Strait of Hormuz - oil prices are seeing moderate gains as trading opens after the weekend break.

A few hours into Monday, the November North Sea oil futures contract had risen by 0.2 percent, to $96.46 per barrel, according to CNBC.
