The oil price is rising since USA's President Donald Trump said that Tehran will be held responsible for the Iran-backed Houthi movement's actions in Yemen.

A barrel of North Sea oil (brent) has increased by 0.7 percent to 71.08 dollars during Monday. The American WTI oil has risen by 0.6 percent to 67.55 dollars per barrel.

The Houthi movement is said to have attempted to attack, among other things, American warships along Yemen's coast in what is said to be solidarity actions with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Trump's administration imposed new sanctions on Iran's oil exports at the beginning of February.
