After a total of twelve years in BP, Engelmark chose to leave the club at the same time as his companion Olof Mellberg took the step to St Louis in the North American MLS football.
Andreas Engelmark has been linked to Allsvenskan competitor Sirius for some time, and on Tuesday everything was finalized.
He will be training the club until the 2027 season.
"There were many things that attracted me to Sirius. Above all, I think it's a club and a team that have made great progress in recent years. I'm impressed by how they've built their squad and continuously developed their playing style while having an impressive growth on the pitch. It feels like football in Uppsala has really grown, both the club and the city together," he says in a press release.
Sirius club director Martin Malmberg:
"I've got a positive impression of Andreas. As a leader, he's very committed and structured, and his interest in leadership and development will be a great asset for us in our continued journey. Andreas has clearly shown that he believes in our strategy and he's very eager to join Sirius, which has been important in the process."
