When the court began hearings against David Anthony Burke, known as the artist D4vd, on Tuesday, disturbing visual evidence was presented in the courtroom, including purchased items such as chainsaws and digging equipment, shortly before the murder.
Prosecutors claim that the murder was committed to silence the girl, who allegedly threatened to reveal the relationship with the famous artist and thereby destroy his career.
The hearing will determine whether the evidence is sufficient for a full trial. The artist himself denies all charges.
The girl's remains were found in September in the trunk of a car registered to Burke. The car was apparently abandoned and was due to be towed away.
