OECD growth edges up to 0.5% in second quarter, German and US growth slows

In the seven so-called G7 countries, growth slowed in five countries. German growth halved to 0.2 percent, while growth in Japan fell to 0.3 percent, down from 0.5 percent in the first quarter.

British growth fell to 0.4 percent, down from 0.6 percent. US growth fell to 0.3 percent from 0.4 percent. Ireland's growth of 3.9 percent stood out, while Austria, Belgium and Chile had zero growth.

Compared with the second quarter of 2025, growth in OECD countries in the second quarter was 2.3 percent, compared with 1.7 percent in the first quarter of the year.
