"For weeks, people across the country have been rightfully outraged by the way masked, newly hired ICE agents and other federal agents have acted with impunity, employing tactics that appear designed to intimidate, harass, provoke, and endanger city residents," Obama wrote.
Obama adds that the Trump administration at the same time "seems eager to inflame the situation" and that it is providing explanations for the shooting deaths of Pretti and Renee Nicole Good that contradict video evidence.
Obama further praises the “wave of peaceful protests” and writes that they remind us of everyone’s responsibility to “speak out against injustice.”
