Trump seems more focused on renovating the White House - a construction project reportedly costing around $900 million, or 9 billion kronor - than on listening to voters, Obama claims.
He also compares Trump’s fondness for gold to that of Iraq’s former dictator Saddam Hussein and an American restaurant chain known for its oversized menu and shabby decor.
"What’s with all the gold? He’s made the White House look like Saddam Hussein had opened a Cheesecake Factory," Obama said, according to The Hill.
The former president says he understands the voters who voted for Trump in 2024, but claims that the sitting president now bears responsibility for "everything becoming more expensive" in the United States.
After two years of chaos, cruelty, corruption and incompetence of a kind we have not seen in modern times, you have the chance to say: "Enough is enough," Obama said, according to the BBC.
