When it was announced last year that the British rock band had been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the third time, singer Liam Gallagher said the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame "is for nerds."
After it was officially announced that Oasis had been chosen, he wrote on X: "Thanks everyone who DIDN'T vote for us."
But perhaps there is still a touch of joy. Gallagher later wrote: "Ever since I was a little boy singing in the shower, I've dreamed of being selected. It's true that anything is possible if you have a dream."
Other inductees include Phil Collins, Wu-Tang Clan, Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, Sade and Joy Division/New Order.
