The serial rapist Fredrik Lundgren, also called Nytorgsmannen, had his sentence reduced in the court of appeal but is now appealing to the Supreme Court, reports P4 Malmöhus.

He was convicted of raping a 17-year-old girl in Hörby last autumn. In the court of appeal, the sentence was four years in prison for the rape of the girl and sexual harassment of women and children.

His defense attorney focuses on the question of whether the girl can be said to have been noticeably intoxicated and thus in a particularly vulnerable situation. The attorney means that the court of appeal's conclusion on the matter is based solely on the girl's own information about intoxication, which the prosecutor does not agree with.
