The home team set the tone already in the first period and led 3–0 at the break – including an assist by Nylander.
"It was a perfect pass. Exactly where I want it, exactly as he usually does. It was great play and there's more of that to come from him," says goal scorer Bobby McMann about the Swede's setup.
In the middle act, Nylander could make it 5–0 with a wrist shot in a power play, his third goal since the start of the season. The guests from California got a couple of consolation goals in the third before John Tavares nailed the final result in the final minutes.
Nylander's teammate Oliver Ekman-Larsson made two assists in the match.
Another Swede who stood out in tonight's round was Pittsburgh's Rickard Rakell, who equalized to 5–5 in the team's overtime win (6–5) against Buffalo.
Additionally, Leo Carlsson became the hero for Anaheim when he scored the decisive 5–4 goal less than a minute into overtime against Utah. The 19-year-old also assisted on Anaheim's equalizer in the end of the third period.
