The superstar William Nylander and his Toronto put a stop to previously unbeaten Winnipeg in tonight's NHL round and won 6–4.
Winnipeg, which had won all eight previous matches, fell behind at home immediately and was down 0–4 just over three minutes into the second period. By then, Nylander had made it 2–0 to Toronto and had assisted on goal four. He also assisted on Toronto's 5–2 goal.
We took advantage of the chances we got, says Nylander after the match to reporters.
He praises Max Pacioretty for the setup on the goal. Pacioretty, new to Toronto from Washington this year, took the puck behind the opponent's goal and laid it out to Nylander, who scored with a quick shot.
Toronto's forward John Tavares managed to score a hat-trick with Toronto's final goal in an empty net.
