The threat of bankruptcy has been averted for the Swedish hockey team Nybro Vikings. Over the past two weeks, more than five million kronor have been raised, the club writes.

Just over two million comes from private donations and almost as much from the club's sponsors. Other initiatives have contributed just over a million.

"This means that we can now continue to run the association and continue to offer our more than 240 children and young people the opportunity to play ice hockey in the future," writes Nybro.

Nybro is eleventh in the Swedish Hockey League.
