Yüksel writes that he will remain in office until the next congress and that, in the meantime, he will work to find a replacement. He further writes that he will remain in the party.
"I should have actually left the party leadership role after the last election, but unfortunately I was misled by certain people who are no longer around me. Now I feel without a doubt that it is time," Yüksel writes on X.
The Nyans party was formed in 2019 and has pursued several controversial issues, including a demand to remove Hamas from the EU's terror list. Yüksel was expelled from the Centre Party ahead of the 2018 elections for links to the Turkish far-right organization the Grey Wolves.
