We are pleased with the collaboration with GM to build AI systems tailored to their vision, craftsmanship, and expertise, says Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang.
According to the companies, Nvidia's AI platforms, in addition to systems for various types of driver assistance in next-generation vehicles, will also optimize GM's factory planning and robotics.
GM does not want to comment on how much the group will pay for the Nvidia agreement.
The car manufacturer has previously used processors and various data platforms from Nvidia in its simulators as well as training and validation tools.
The new thing is that Nvidia products will now also be used in vehicles that will be on the roads as well as in the planning and operation of GM's production facilities.
