She was convicted of three counts of aggravated theft, committed against elderly and sick patients who were admitted to the emergency department in 2020, 2024 and 2025.
She was also convicted of theft of items from a stranger's home and of aggravated receiving.
The woman has partially admitted to the crimes and said she stole to finance a gambling addiction, Attunda District Court said in a press release.
However, the district court rejected her request for probation and treatment.
"The sentence of two years in prison reflects the ruthlessness and systematic nature of the nurse's crimes," says Councilor Louise Conradi in the press release.
