It was on August 8 this year that the man is suspected of raping a seriously ill woman in her 70s who was being cared for in hospital during the final stages of her life.
The woman died very shortly after the incident, according to the Prosecution Authority.
"I assess that the nurse showed particular recklessness or cruelty because the crime was committed while the woman was being cared for in the final stages of her life, completely unable to defend herself, and because the man exploited his position as a nurse," prosecutor Frida Noldin says in a press release.
