On Monday, the website kulturkanon.se opens, the platform that invites the public to submit proposals on what should be included in a cultural canon for Sweden.
The public has previously been able to email their proposals, but on the newly opened website, many of the proposals received will also be published.
"Eventually, expert groups will select the works that will be included in a cultural canon for Sweden, unfortunately, much will have to be rejected. But it is important to first show the breadth of our cultural history and that there is so much more than the selected that could also have been included", says the committee's chairman Lars Trägårdh in a press release.
The website will be open until the end of the investigation on August 31 this year. The expert groups will review all proposals received by then.
