Lower salary or quit. Some employees at the Danish pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk have been given an ultimatum by the company.

Either they must accept worse conditions or they will be laid off, reports Bloomberg with reference to the Danish newspaper Børsen.

The employees are reported to have been given 24 hours to agree to the changes in their employment, which include, among other things, lower positions, lower salaries and relocations.

Novo Nordisk, which has grown gigantic thanks to medicines such as Ozempic and Wegovy, has lost around 45 percent of its market value over the past year, partly due to tougher competition.

The company's CEO Mike Doustdar is in the process of cutting costs and will, among other things, lay off 11 percent of the staff.
