The pharmaceutical company confirmed that it has written to companies to ensure that the collaborations "remain commercially sustainable," which was first reported by business news channel Finans.
In a statement on Thursday, Novo Nordisk said it is not “mandatory” for suppliers to provide a discount, but that the company will “take into account a positive response as part of our broader supplier assessment.”
Novo Nordisk has recently lost market share to American competitor Eli Lilly. To meet the competition, Novo has lowered prices and invested in a new tablet version of its best-selling obesity treatment, Wegovy.
