Novo Energy, which operates the battery factory at Volvo Cars, is laying off half of its staff.
The company announced this in a press release. According to Göteborgs-Posten, 150 employees are affected by the decision.
At the same time, Novo Energy announced that the ongoing construction of the factory in Torslanda will continue and that the company will investigate whether there is an opportunity to operate battery production in the facility.
Novo Energy was previously co-owned by Volvo Cars and Northvolt, but in connection with Northvolt's crisis, Volvo Cars announced that it would take over the entire ownership of Novo Energy.
