It was during a match between the teams in August last year that the controversial banner was seen among the home crowd at Selhurst Park.

The banner depicted Marinakis pointing a gun at Nottingham player Morgan Gibbs-White. According to the BBC, Nottingham owner Evangelos Marinakis is now suing Crystal Palace for defamation.

Last summer, Gibbs-White was close to a move to Tottenham, but Nottingham pulled out of the deal.

The banner also featured a speech bubble from the player's mouth with the text:

"Mr. Marinakis is not involved in extortion, match-fixing, drug trafficking or corruption." These are allegations that Marinakis has previously denied.
