The month before, the number of notices of termination was 5,600. The number of notices of termination is, however, lower compared to November last year. Then, approximately 7,600 people were notified of termination.

Unemployment, in turn, continues to rise, according to the statistics.

At the end of November, nearly 366,000 people were registered as unemployed with the Employment Service, approximately 27,000 more compared to the same month last year. This corresponds to 6.9 percent of the workforce – an increase of 0.5 percentage points over the past year.

The increase can be seen among both men and women, as well as among both native-born and foreign-born individuals. Among young people aged 18-24, the number of registered individuals with the authority has increased to 8.3 percent compared to 7.5 percent in November 2023.

The Employment Service sees an increase in unemployment in the majority of counties. The highest was in Skåne (9.2 percent) at the end of November, followed by Södermanland County (8.9 percent). The lowest was in Norrbotten County (3.9 percent).
