The alarm came in at half past two at night towards Thursday, but the ship is believed to have run aground already at 01 hour.
At three o'clock in the afternoon, the ship could be pulled loose. It will now be towed to Norwegian Halden with the help of two tugboats.
According to the Coast Guard, no one was injured in connection with the grounding.
It is too early to say what caused the incident, but the Coast Guard has initiated a preliminary investigation regarding negligence in maritime traffic. There is no suspicion of drunkenness at sea, the authority writes on its website.
