The saga of Bodø/Glimt thus continues in Europe's most prestigious club football tournament. In the group stage, the Norwegians defeated both Manchester City and Atlético Madrid.
In the round of 16 playoff, the Italian giants Inter were the next team to be defeated - twice.
The first match at Aspmyra Stadium last week ended 3–1 and the return match at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium ended 2–1. Bodø is now through to the round of 16 with a 5–2 aggregate win.
Jens Petter Hauge was instrumental in the victory on Tuesday night. He opened the scoring in the 58th minute and then set up Håkon Evjen to make it 2–0. In the 77th minute, Inter's Alessandro Bastoni reduced the score to 2–1, but the hosts did not come any closer than that. Last year's Champions League finalist, who lost to Paris Saint-Germain 0–5, is thus eliminated in the round of 16.
Bodø/Glimt will next face either Manchester City or Sporting later in March. The draw will be made on Friday.
