Norwegian cross-country star Tiril Udnes Weng felt both physically and mentally unwell after cutting her ski season short in early December last year.
I had to Google if I was depressed right after Christmas, but I wasn't, she says and continues:
Some days have clearly been heavy, but overall I've found things that have made me happy. I just had to decide that I wouldn't bury myself.
The 28-year-old Norwegian, who won the overall World Championship season 2022–2023, has had lingering problems after contracting glandular fever.
Weng only competed in three World Cup events last season, finishing 20th at best in the classical sprint in Ruka in November and missing the home World Championship in Trondheim in February–March.
