The Norwegian skiing star Sjur Røthe is ending his career. The 35-year-old did not receive renewed trust in the national team before the upcoming season.
Røthe has been part of the Norwegian long-distance national team for over a decade, and during his career, he has won three World Championship gold medals, two of which were in relay. He has also had three World Championship bronze medals – the latest came in skiathlon at the World Championships in Slovenian Planica 2023.
"13 years in the long-distance national team have brought many things. Enormous peaks, some valleys, and incredibly many memorable experiences with my best friends," writes Røthe on Instagram.
