In May, it became known that the ski World Championship in Trondheim in February–March made a huge economic loss. The company behind expected a surplus of 15-20 million kronor, but instead it appears to go 20-30 million back.
The cuts of 27.1 million kronor will include downsizing and changes in our event portfolio, which can mean that we do not carry out events that are very costly for us to carry out, says the Norwegian Ski Federation's general secretary Ola Keul to NRK and adds:
It is an ongoing process around which arrangements it will apply to.
The company that arranged the ski World Championship is owned to 60 percent by the Norwegian Ski Federation, 30 percent by Sør-Trøndelags Ski District, and the last 10 percent is owned by Trondheim Municipality.
As one of around 100 creditors, the Norwegian Ski Federation lent around 7.5 million kronor to the World Championship company. Money that can now have gone completely lost.
