Norwegian Ski Association Faces Losses of Up to 9 Million Kroner This Year

The Norwegian Ski Association looks set to lose between 5 and 9 million Norwegian kroner. “We always knew 2026 would be a tough year financially, but it has become even tougher than expected,” the association’s secretary general, Ola Keul, tells Adresseavisen.

According to the budget, the association expected to run a deficit of 1.9 million kronor (just over two million Swedish kronor). It is now expected to run a deficit of between 5 and 9 million kronor.

We have equity of 76 million kronor and can handle a year with a deficit. The outlook for 2027 looks better, but we also have to get the economy back into balance, Keul says.

Uncertainty about, among other things, sponsorship revenue and a canceled ski-flying competition are cited as reasons for the deficit.
