Norwegian Reports Smaller Than Expected Q1 Loss of 611 Million Kronor

The airline Norwegian reports an operating loss of 611 million Norwegian kronor for the first quarter of the year. This can be compared to the loss of 763 million during the corresponding quarter last year.

Analysts had, however, counted on an even worse result. The average prognosis lay at a loss of 942 million Norwegian kronor, according to a compilation made by Bloomberg.

The operating revenues in the quarter rose to 6.6 billion Norwegian kronor, up from 6.1 billion a year earlier.

According to Norwegian, the booking level is robust, but an increase in summer bookings compared to the same period last year.

At the end of the first quarter, Norwegian had 89 aircraft in its fleet, of which 25 Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft.
