Analysts had, however, counted on an even worse result. The average prognosis lay at a loss of 942 million Norwegian kronor, according to a compilation made by Bloomberg.
The operating revenues in the quarter rose to 6.6 billion Norwegian kronor, up from 6.1 billion a year earlier.
According to Norwegian, the booking level is robust, but an increase in summer bookings compared to the same period last year.
At the end of the first quarter, Norwegian had 89 aircraft in its fleet, of which 25 Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft.
