Norwegian posts 603 million kroner operating loss as fuel costs rise

The Norwegian airline Norwegian reports an operating loss of 603 million Norwegian kroner for the second quarter.

This compares with a profit of 1,250 million during the corresponding quarter last year.

The result was affected by higher fuel costs and a one-time item of 733 million Norwegian kroner, Norwegian writes in the report.

Operating income rose marginally to 10.4 billion Norwegian kroner, up from 10.3 billion.
