The reason the Norwegian organisation is rejecting the money is the conditions set by the US State Department.

“The US is trying to dictate that we stop working for equality and diversity. Not just in the programmes they themselves fund, but in everything we do, including projects supported by other donors. We say no to that. We follow Norwegian law and Norwegian policy and do not exchange value for money,” says Raymond Johansen, secretary general of Norwegian People’s Aid, in a press release.

By refusing US aid, annual revenue will be reduced by almost 400 million Norwegian kroner, equivalent to just over 410 million Swedish kronor.
