I think it's fun to qualify for two championships in two different sports in the same year, then I feel like I have something unfinished in the pool, says the 25-year-old to Max.

Øritsland focused on swimming and trained in the USA until 2020, but moved back to Oslo due to the coronavirus pandemic and focused on canoeing.

There, she qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris, where she, among other things, made it to the final and finished seventh with the Norwegian K4 boat.

Now, she is one of seven Norwegian swimmers selected for the short course World Championship in Budapest in December.

Which of the sports she will focus on after the World Championship, she does not know.

I'm not training canoeing now, just swimming. I haven't decided yet what I'll do after the World Championship. I'll make that decision in July, she says.
