The murder suspect was found dead on Sunday. His defender Leif Björklund confirms the death, but does not want to comment further.

According to Bohusläningen, a person has been arrested.

We were called in by the Prison and Probation Service on Sunday, after a 45-year-old man was found dead in their premises, says Christian Brattgård, press spokesperson at the police, to TT.

We have not been able to rule out that he was subjected to a crime and an investigation into murder has been initiated. A 20-year-old man, who is also detained in the remand prison, has been arrested and will be questioned about the circumstances.

Ulf Mossberg, press secretary at the Prison and Probation Service, states that the arrested person and the deceased lived in the same room.

I can confirm that there was a fatality at the remand prison in Uddevalla and that they lived in the same room. But otherwise, it is the police and the prosecutor who are handling this.

It will also be conducted, but initially, it is about taking care of the staff and other inmates.

The man who was found dead on Sunday was charged last week suspected of murdering a close relative outside Strömstad in January.

The case was to be taken up in Uddevalla District Court in June, but is now being dropped according to prosecutor Robert Beckard.
