The flight turned back to Vienna after a couple of hours in the air. A picture that VG received from a passenger shows large cracks in the windshield.
"This plane had a crack in the window in front of the cockpit. The captains decided to go down and inspect it," Eline Hyggen Skari, press officer for Norwegian, told the newspaper.
Passengers will be able to change planes and continue their journey to Croatia.
What caused the crack is initially unknown.
