Everything went Denmark's way on Monday.
First, Norway and Portugal eliminated each other from semifinal contention by playing a 35–35 draw, and then Spain surprisingly beat France 36–32.
That gave Denmark the chance to secure a semifinal spot.
Denmark struck in the second half after Germany had two players sent off. Simon Pytlick scored six straight goals and finished as joint top scorer with Mathias Gidsel, with eight goals each.
Germany and France will compete for the second semifinal spot from the Herning group.
In the Malmö group, Sweden continues to chase a semifinal spot, most recently playing Hungary on Tuesday.
