Norwegian dominance in Oberhof – Ponsiluoma falls short

Elvira Öberg offered a crazy revenge in the pursuit. The Swedish men were not close to anything similar. It was the first shot that was bad, says Martin Ponsiluoma, who became tenth and best Swedish in German Oberhof.

The 12.5 kilometer race became a Norwegian exhibition. Sturla Holm Lægreid won ahead of national team colleagues Tarjei Bø and Johannes Thingnes Bø.

The brothers started their pursuit of a podium spot from 16th and 13th place, respectively.

Swede Martin Ponsiluoma had a similar starting position, 12th, but had a tough start with three misses.

I'm incredibly pleased with my work afterwards. It felt good on the range today and it's a bit frustrating that I had a few misses in the first round, he says to SVT.

Ponsiluoma finished ninth, 36.7 seconds behind Holm Lægreid.

It's not far to a podium or top six, it leaves you wanting more.

Elvira Öberg made a strong impression in the women's 10 kilometer pursuit and climbed from 37th to third place.
