Norwegian cyclists may be allowed to run red lights in an experiment this summer. Oslo is testing a right-turn policy even when the traffic light is red.

The trick for a better traffic rhythm is already available in many parts of the world, but not yet in Sweden. In North America, for example, the rule usually also applies to motorists, but in Europe it often only applies to cyclists.

In the Norwegian capital, it will start on a small scale in Oslo.

The pilot project can be implemented as soon as amended sign regulations are in place, says Kjersti Bakken at the Swedish Road Administration to Aftenposten.
