Norway's hard-pressed Crown Princess "needs time to gather herself." Therefore, the Mental Health Council is suspending cooperation with her.
"We think it is reasonable that she should be given peace and quiet in this serious situation," says Secretary General Tove Gundersen.
The break will last until the end of the year.
Last week, the organization Sex & Society in Norway announced that it was breaking off all cooperation with Mette-Marit after revelations about her friendship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
On Friday, Mette-Marit apologized for her friendship with Epstein in a written statement.
