Norwegian inflation – the annual rate of increase in consumer prices – fell to 3.1 percent in May, new figures from the country's statistics agency show. This compares with 3.4 percent the previous month.

The decline was in line with expectations.

In Denmark, the trend went in the other direction. There, inflation rose to 1.9 percent in May, up from 1.4 percent in April.
