Norwegian Air may lower fares after oil dip

A barrel of North Sea oil cost $78 on Wednesday morning, compared to just over $90 a week earlier. In early May, the price per barrel was around $110.

Now the price of fuel and oil has actually come down quite significantly in the last week, and we are happy about that, Karlsen says.

In addition to energy prices, market demand and competitors' actions also affect flight prices, he says.

The question is whether holiday travel can become cheaper.

We are now well into June, and we have already sold a large proportion of our summer tickets. Normally, prices do not go down during the absolute peak season.
