"The Queen was transported by ambulance helicopter from Prinsehytten in Sikkilsdalen where the royal couple spent the Easter holiday", states the Norwegian royal house in a press release.

Prinsehytten is the royal family's mountain cabin in Jotunheimen.

Queen Sonja, who is 87 years old, had a pacemaker implanted in January after experiencing heart flutter during a skiing trip.

"The procedure was successful and the Queen is doing well", announced the royal house after the operation.

Even 88-year-old King Harald has received a pacemaker. It happened in March last year after he fell ill during a vacation in Malaysia.
