The Norwegian Royal House says in a press release that 52-year-old Mette-Marit has been discharged from Oslo University Hospital.

"I am deeply grateful," she says in the press release. "First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who chooses organ donation."

Finding suitable lungs is often difficult, and it is not uncommon for patients with lung disease to die while on the waiting list. However, the attention surrounding Mette-Marit has increased the number of Norwegians registering as potential donors.

Lung transplantation is a major procedure, and the Crown Princess still has a lot of rehabilitation ahead of her before she is fully healthy.
