They either have war injuries or other severe diagnoses that cannot be treated in Gaza, writes the news agency NTB.

"The healthcare system in Gaza has collapsed, many hospitals are in ruins and access to treatment is severely limited. I am very pleased that Norway can receive more patients from Gaza", says Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide in a press release.

According to Eide, a total of 18 patients and 38 accompanying persons have now been transferred to Norway from Gaza. In the press release, he specifically thanks Romania for assisting Norway with the evacuations.

Norway is one of twelve European countries that have received patients from the Gaza Strip through the EU's emergency response union.
