Norway will receive up to 15 new patients from Gaza, according to a government decision.
"The humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic. The healthcare system is almost destroyed, and the hospitals that are still in operation have difficulty treating complex injuries and life-threatening diseases. The government has therefore decided to welcome up to 15 new patients to Norway this year", says Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Ap) in a press release.
Norway is one of twelve European countries that have received patients from the Gaza Strip through the EU's emergency response union. Previously, the country has received 20 patients from Gaza and a limited number of accompanying persons.
