After a goalless first half, Norway broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute through Marcus Holmgren Pedersen.
The game had barely begun in the second half when superstar Erling Haaland scored the team's second goal - a strike that made history. He is now Norway's all-time leading goalscorer at the Men's World Cup.
Senegal reduced the deficit with a goal from Ismaila Sarr in the 53rd minute, but Haaland was unstoppable. In the 58th minute he scored again and Norway went up 3–1.
Sarr struck again, scoring his second goal of the match in the third minute of added time, but ultimately it wasn't enough and Senegal were defeated. In their final group game, Senegal face Iraq. Much is at stake - both teams compete for the chance to advance to the finals.
Before Norway play in the round of 16, they will face France in their final group match - France had, just hours earlier, won overwhelmingly against Iraq.
