Norway's successful team, which has beaten both Sweden and the Czech Republic and is set for the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time in 14 years, held a 3-2 lead against Denmark for much of the game.
But with only two seconds left in the third period, Denmark equalized through Patrick Russell.
Norway ultimately won 4-3 after extra time, but by not taking the full three points they can be overtaken by the Czech Republic, who can take second place in the group if they earn three points against Canada tonight.
If Norway finishes second in the group, they will face Latvia or Austria in the quarterfinals.
If Norway finishes third, they will face host nation Switzerland or Finland.
