Norway inflation rises to 3.0% in July, above expectations ahead of Norges Bank rate decision

The outcome was higher than expected. Analysts had predicted an average inflation rate of 2.8 percent, according to Bloomberg's compilation of forecasts.

“In July, it was the development of electricity prices in particular that contributed to driving up inflation,” says Espen Kristiansen, head of department at Statistics Sweden, in a press release.

On Thursday, Norges Bank will release its interest rate decision.
