Norway is extraditing a man who is accused of murder during the genocide in Rwanda in 1994.
In the decision, which was made by the Ministry of Justice and Emergency Preparedness in February, it was emphasized that Norway, according to the UN's Genocide Convention, is obliged to extradite the man to Rwanda.
The decision was appealed but has now been confirmed.
The man was arrested in October 2022 and the police have conducted several investigations to determine if the conditions for extradition are met.
Rwanda wants to bring the man to trial for having committed a murder during the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, reports the Norwegian National Criminal Investigation Service Kripos, which, among other things, handles cases involving war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity.
